Purchasing cooperatives allow their members to obtain the benefits and efficiencies of procuring a broad range of commodities, goods, and services from qualified vendors off of bid schedules without having to go through the rigors of the traditional bid process. The cooperatives also streamline the government purchasing process through the adoption of current internet-based technologies and leveraging the economies of scale inherent in pre-qualified bidding. The BuyBoard is a customized electronic purchasing system for all government entities created by the Local Government Purchasing Cooperative, an administrative agency created in accordance with Section 791.001 of the Texas Government Code. It is administered by the Texas Association of School Boards and uses internet-based technologies to create a secure Web site for product and awarded contract information and ordering. A BuyBoard membership is free and open to all local governments, nonprofits, and other political subdivisions of the state of Texas. Ramtech was the first modular building company to be awarded a contract from the Buyboard, and we continue to offer the most complete line of modular facilities available for purchase or lease through the program. Ramtech Building Systems is the only approved vendor on the BuyBoard to offer permanent modular buildings utilizing our Accelerated Building System approach. Ramtech has been an approved vendor of the BuyBoard since 2001.
With Ramtech, your design-build construction project allows you to work with one company that can both design and build your new facility. We do this through a vertically integrated approach that combines our Architect/Engineering design team, the manufacturing of our own proprietary product, and a highly skilled construction management department for a true single-source approach. Our process starts with free project planning. After an initial programming meeting we start by providing you with a floor plan and site plan design, an exterior rendering of the proposed building, outline specifications, and a preliminary budget. Once the preliminary budget is approved, the design phase begins with a fee equal to 2 to 3% of the preliminary budget. The design is then taken to an 85% completion level and final pricing is presented as a stipulated sum or as a guaranteed maximum price. The result is a design-build construction approach that:
