School-Based Health Clinics

Constant changes in the healthcare market create challenges in providing access to quality medical care. Lack of insurance for many families compounds the problem especially if they are not eligible for government assistance programs. For this reason many school districts have stepped in to provide healthcare services at freestanding modular medical clinics located at their school campuses. For school districts, establishing an on-site clinic can maximize student time in the classroom by minimizing the time needed to leave school and see an outside physician. They also can provide more flexibility in the hours of operation over clinics that reside inside an existing school building. By capitalizing on the advantages associated with traditional modular buildings, clinic facilities can be purchased or leased to give a school district the flexibility to establish a presence in one area while being able to relocate the building if their needs or circumstances change.

Ramtech has been perfecting the use of modular construction for relocatable medical clinics for over 30 years. From our standard one, two, and four-practitioner models to a host of other custom designed facilities, we've installed hundreds of clinics throughout the Southwest ranging in size from 1,500 to 10,000 square feet that serve hospitals, large physician groups and independent medical practices. The growing list of independent school districts that have adopted this approach are using standard floor plans developed by Ramtech that feature ample sized waiting rooms, business office with records storage areas, exam rooms, procedure rooms, labs, nurse's stations and physician offices. Ramtech is also able to work with school districts and their healthcare provider partners on Federally Qualified Health Centers that are acquired through federal and state grant programs.
